Boroli, Barolo 2018

Boroli was founded by a Piedmontese family of entrepreneurs in 1831. Firstly in the textile industry, then in publishing before moving into wine-growing, it is now headed up by Silvano and Elena Boroli who have worked tirelessly to bring the vineyards, winery and wine back to nature. Coming from the excellent 2018 vintage, this Barolo is bright ruby red colour with a lively nose of fresh wild berries and sweet liquorice. On the palate, ripe tannins combine with a welcoming acidity which harnesses the classically Barolo-balance of equal measures structure, opulence, character and elegance. Drinking well now, but will continue to develop for some years yet. We recommend it's decanted for a good hour or two before enjoying with gamey dishes.
